Jessica Voorsanger talks about her work during the preview of Tainted Love at Transition gallery.
I thought it might be nice to have, all in one place, the Tainted love artists in their own words.....follow the links to read on.
Right from the start of this project the artists taking part have been bloging about their Tainted Love ideas and work. We all created new work for the show and for those of us who blog it makes sense to talk about it as we go along, like Mark Scott-Wood who's work took on an element of the interactive. Mark ran a competition inviting the fans of his chosen bands to vote for the shrine, made in their honour, that would be shown during the London leg of the tour. Mark also discussed the work as it was being made from his studio. Cathy Lomax discusses her work, 16 most beautiful (men in profile), made for the show in some depth in Generation Magazine while Hayley Lock talked about her work focusing on Aleister Crowley and his muse Laylah on her blog. More recently Andrea Hannon has talked about the Coventry leg of the tour and reflected on the work she made specifically for the Meter Room Show. I have bloged about the work I have been making for the show fairly regularly for a while. Hayley Lock and I spoke specifically about pieces in the show on The Aesthetic Trust website. Plus I gave an interview about the show and its tour on Culture 24 here. Meanwhile Tainted Love at The Meter Room Coventry, continues until Sunday 8th July. cs Tainted Loves preview at the Meter Room Coventry was a brilliantly busy evening with some surprise visitors who had travelled to see the show, a huge thank you from all of us Tainted Lovers to everyone who came out to welcome the show and Arty to Coventry.
